KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race of nine on Saturday, December 9, 2023, features a maiden call for two-year-old fillies only, covering a distance of five furlongs.

Out of the seven nominated horses, six are first-time starters, making winner predictions challenging.

The Quick Galloper analyses each participant in draw order.

1 – VALLEY OF LOVE is a bay filly (born March 30) by Spieth out of May Flower, trained by Phillip Elliott and ridden by Phillip Parchment. Notably, Valley of Love has already produced Great Faith, Giaconda, Sherwood Forest, and Princess Sylvia. Onlookers anticipate a strong debut based on consistent morning presence. She's a viable option for exacta, quinella, and trifecta bets.

2 – CRYPTOGIRL is a chestnut filly (born April 18) by Soul Warrior out of Twilight Eruption, trained by Byron Davis with Omar Walker aboard. Exercise reports suggest Crypto Girl will benefit from her debut effort.

3 – DON’T TELL LOU LOU is a bay filly (born May 8) by Savoy Stomp out of Lastochka and trained by Byron Davis. Odeen Edwards takes the saddle. As the only horse with starting experience in this event, her underwhelming first run implies modest expectations for Saturday.

4 – SHANY STAR is a bay filly (born April 15) by Savoy Stomp out of Gentle Officer and trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Raddesh Roman riding. Gentle Officer has already produced Berry Boy, Cruella, Princess Alani, and Acknowledgeme. Early observers report that this filly displays notable speed in the initial phase of the race; what follows remains uncertain.

5 – PRINCESS CATALEYA is a bay filly (born February 2) by Casual Trick out of Classical Princess, trained by Patrick Lynch with Reyan Lewis aboard. Clockers describe her as a fast, well-prepared filly with an attractive appearance.

6 – DOVE is a chestnut filly (born March 20) by Seeking My Dream out of Sea of Galilee, trained by Ian Alexander and ridden by Christopher Mamdeen. As the first offspring of a former Derby and Diamond Mile victor to race, Dove carries high expectations for a solid performance.

7 – KAYLYN MELODY is a bay filly (born May 19) by Casual Trick out of Darlin, trained by Steven Todd with Javaniel Patterson holding the reins. Darlin has already produced Kwaku and Phenomenal One. Observations from morning sessions show Kaylyn Melody's promising progress, with connections anticipating a strong run.
