KINGSTON, Jamaica – Foreign-bred two-year-old Digital One (Uncle Lino out of Legal Redemption) solidified her status as the leading juvenile in 2023 thus far.
The confirmation came on Saturday, November 25, 2023, as the bay filly secured her third win from as many starts in the inaugural Mr Sensational Trophy, a seven-furlong, two-year-old stakes event.
Digital One's previous victories were achieved over 5½ furlongs, recording a time of 1:06.3, and six furlongs with a time of 1:13.2.
In a field of six, including four stablemates from top trainer Jason DaCosta's barn and one from Ian Parsard's yard, Digital One quickly took the lead.
Jockey Reyan Lewis guided Digital One to fend off an initial challenge from Run Julie Run before entering the final two furlongs unopposed.
A brief encounter arose at the top of the stretch when jockey Javaniel Patterson on Fastnfuriouslinks moved to the inside. However, Digital One pulled away effortlessly to secure an eight-length victory in a time of 1:26.3.
Fastnfuriouslinks finished in second place, followed by Run Julie Run in third.
Three wins from three starts mean that Digital One is just one away from reaching the Overnight Allowance level.
Her progress will be monitored closely.
