KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jockey Samantha Fletcher celebrated her 50th win during the fourth race on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
She rode the Colin Ferguson-trained Snowflakes to victory, taking advantage of a last-minute opportunity.
Originally, Reyan Lewis was slated to ride Snowflakes, but circumstances led to Fletcher securing the mount. The win marked her first since March, following a challenging year—she spent time in Canada and returned to Jamaica approximately three months ago without any wins until now.
Despite the lack of victories, Fletcher remains dedicated to her career.
"It has been tough, but I'm still committed to success," she said. Focused on working for trainer Anthony Nunes, she hopes to achieve more wins through hard work and dedication.
Regarding her 50th victory, Fletcher expressed gratitude: "Reaching this milestone wasn't easy, but I am grateful. I want to thank all the trainers, owners, and grooms who played a role in this accomplishment."
