KINGSTON, Jamaica – The sloppy track condition currently being experienced at Caymanas Park produced another rollicking finish as Ras Emanuel got home by the narrowest of margins (a nose) to claim victory in the day’s seventh race.
Trained by Peter McMaster and ridden by Omar Walker, Ras Emanuel was prominent throughout but came under pressure from Sergeant Reckless (Raddesh Roman) coming from the ill-fated one draw in the five-furlong straight contest at the Overnight Allowance level.
In the last furlong both Walker and Roman were giving no quarter with Ras Emanuel winning by nose in a very fast time of 58.0 seconds. Sergeant Reckless was second with old-timer Campesino third.
Ras Emanuel gave McMaster his second win for the year from six starts.
