KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Neville Peralto after 14 starts this season was able to notch his first winner when his 6-5 chance Struck By Grace took home the second race as the Wednesday programme at Caymanas Park got into full flow.

The event – a five straight for maidens (five-year-olds and up) saw Struck By Grace ridden by leading rider apprentice Christopher Mamdeen drawn on the outside taking the lead from the off and was never really challenged throughout coming in to win by five lengths.

First time runner Ratio (Daniel Satchell) – the 4-5 odds on favourite in the contest ran green and although finishing second was never a factor. Robin’s Quest (Roger Hewitt) going off at odds of 10-1 was third.

This was Mamdeen 76th winner for the year and he now leads the jockeys’ championship by 19 wins.
