KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was a defining run by two-year-old bay colt Wow Wow (Casual Trick – Sarah Barracuda) as he dismantled his four rivals including the 1-9 favourite England’s Rose to win the feature race (seventh) on today’s 10-race card at Caymanas Park – the Bearings and Accessories Trophy. The trophy race for two-year-olds was run over 5 1/2 furlongs.
Owned by Michros, ridden by Ameth Robles and trained by Gary Subratie, Wow Wow stayed behind as the speedy England’s Rose (Omar Walker) set off at a clicking pace with speedy splits of 22.4 x 45.4.
Then Robles steadily brought down Wow Wow who caught England’s Rose at the top of the straight and then pulled away in emphatic manner to win by 10 scorching lengths.
The final time was a very fast 1:05.1.
England’s Rose who found nothing in the straight ended in second with Tomohawk third.
