KINGSTON, Jamaica - The inaugural Hover Craft Sprint Trophy will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

The race is a six-furlong contest for two-year-olds, including those who have had a previous win. This season, it is the longest distance so far for the juveniles. Five horses are set to compete.

The Quick Galloper analyzes the five contenders.

The event is scheduled as the seventh on the Overnight program, though this may change when the final program is confirmed later today.

1 – BLU SENSATION is a bay filly (February 12) by Sensational Slam out of Blue In The Grass, trained by Ian Parsard with Omar Walker holding a number two paper. She has raced twice without making signa ificant impact. Blu Sensation fills a spot for her better-prepared stablemate, Run Julie Run.

2 – ROSETTA is a roan filly (April 6) by Bold Conquest out of Khadilah, trained by Jason DaCosta with Shamaree Muir aboard. She made her debut on September 30. Rosetta will likely find her way to the winners' enclosure soon but not in this race.

3 – DIGITAL ONE is a bay filly (USA February 24) by Uncle Lino out of Legal Redemption, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. She is the only foreign contender in this race. Digital One made an impressive debut on October 7, clocking a swift 1:06.3. Additionally, she is the only one of the three winners entered to have triumphed over more than five furlongs. This puts her in a prime position for this trophy.

4 – LUCY IN THE SKY is a bay filly (March 23) by Liquidity out of Tap A Bay Yankee, trained by Jason DaCosta with Jerome Innis aboard. She claimed victory in her second start, only to be bested by Digital One later. A reversal of that result seems unlikely. Note that Lucy In The Sky will race with first-time Lasix.

5 – RUN JULIE RUN is a grey filly (May 6) by Successful Native out of Runaway Julie, trained by Ian Parsard with Omar Walker in the saddle. She exhibited great determination on her debut (October 15), securing her first win over five furlongs in a time of 1:01.3. This talented filly is expected to be a fierce contender throughout the race.
