KINGSTON, Jamaica –Following her impressive victory in the recent Gold Cup, She's My Destiny now holds third place among the highest earners of the 2023 season.
The five-year-old mare boasts five wins from her nine starts, with only one unplaced finish, accumulating a total of $5,491,850. Trained by Jason DaCosta, She's My Destiny is the sole horse above the $5 million mark who isn't a three-year-old.
Other horses surpassing $5 million in earnings include Derby winner Ability, 1000 Guineas and Oaks champion Mamma Mia, St Leger victor Thalita, and 2000 Guineas winner Mojito.
Leading the pack is Ability, trained by Patrick Lynch, who has amassed stakes of $5,979,250 from six starts. Close behind in second place is Mamma Mia with earnings of $5,494,350.
Trainer DaCosta stands out for conditioning three of the top five earners and four in the top ten overall: Mamma Mia, She's My Destiny, Thalita, and I Am Fred. The latter is one of two non-local horses in the top 10—joined by Runaway Algo.
