KINGSTON, Jamaica – The up and down day for punters continued in the ninth when 8-1 outsider Hadia with Shavon Townsend aboard won a Maiden Special Weight for four-year-olds and upwards run over seven furlongs.

Hadia trained by Christopher Pearson who was having one of his rare successes, was slowly out of the gates but made steady headway down the backstretch.

Coming close to the top of the lane Hadia started to really move going in front while squirting across the track to the inside rails.

Hadia and Townsend then had to stave off the late burst of Jamaica Storm and did so in the end winning by a head.
