KINGSTON, Jamaica – No official word has emerged as yet, as to whether or not leading rider Reyan Lewis with honour his riding assignments on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Lewis fell from a two-year-old on Saturday morning (October 7) during the exercise period and was unable to mount up on the 10-race card. Two of Lewis’ Saturday rides, Phenomenal One and Digital One, turned out to be winners for Phillip Parchment and Dane Dawkins respectively. Parchment and Dawkins were the replacement jockeys for Lewis.
Quickgallop.com understands that Lewis is not seriously injured from the fall.
Under the Rules of Racing, for Lewis to ride again, he has to present the race day stewards with a medical clearance certificate.
