KINGSTON, Jamaica - Raddesh Roman, who rose to prominence last season after riding Blue Vinyl to victory in the 2000 Guineas and St Leger Classic races, achieved another significant milestone on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

He rode Runaway Algo for his 100th career win in the $1.75-million She's A Maneater Trophy feature, a Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and up over one mile.

Initially expected to lead early on, Runaway Algo was held by Roman in third place as stablemates I Am Fred (Reyan Lewis) and Outbidder (Jordan Barrett) set the pace.

The four-year-old American-bred chestnut colt maintained a steady gallop until Roman pushed him to take the lead approaching the half-mile marker.

From there on, it was smooth sailing for the Algorithms - Misunify offspring, who went on to dismiss the field by eight lengths at the finish line in a time of 1:38.0. I Am Fred came in second place, while Outbidder finished third.

"Winning my 100th career race is an incredible feeling. I'm proud of myself because it took a lot of hard work and sacrifice to reach this point in my career," Roman commented.

"I'm happy but will continue working hard and staying focused — knowing that if I do so, many more victories will follow. Hard effort is the key to success, and I am determined to work diligently," Roman concluded.
