KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth race on Saturday, July 29, 2023, is Division One of an Overnight Allowance offering at 7 ½ furlongs.
The Quick Galloper weighs in with the analysis of the nine runners entered to contest this event.
- MARQUESAS: Has taken a while to find himself in this grouping. Marquesas is finding it difficult to deal with these rivals. A place on the board is the best option Marquesas can hope for on Saturday.
- GREEN GOLD RUSH - Has demonstrated massive improvement of late having got rid of his previous tendency of being a rogue. Given his improved behaviour, Green Gold Rush can be backed to fight this one out, while the distance of 7 ½ furlongs will not be a hindrance for Green Gold Rush.
- TEKAPUNT: A hard and gritty campaigner who tries Overnight Allowance for the first time. Needs time to catch the pace of his new level.
- OUTBIDDER: This filly is coming to come in this class, having finished fourth 20 days ago at 6 ½ furlongs running on. Outbidder will have to get everything right to win this encounter.
- SIR JOHN: Even with the tongue tie on and the cheek pieces off, Sir John is going to be hard-pressed to win.
- EL PROFESOR: Has no form to recommend a winning effort.
- BRINKS: Ran a clinker on last (July 9), when finishing in twelfth place, nine lengths behind the winner Green Gold Rush, who is again present to do battle. Brinks has the class to deliver, plus the distance is perfect. He needs to find his old self if victory is to be achieved.
- D HEAD CORNERSTONE: This bay colt is pretty consistent, finishing fourth, just four lengths adrift of Further and Beyond on June 25. D Head Cornerstone cannot be denied a chance of winning against these, for the second time at this level.
-RING CHARMER: Can be left out of consideration.
