KINGSTON, Jamaica – The abandoned second race on Saturday, July 2, 2023, will be run on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

The race will have the same six starters, with one jockey change, as Anthony Thomas replacing Raddesh Roman in the saddle. The distance of 5 ½ furlongs remains the same, with a redrawing of post-positions.

This race is a three-year-old and upwards non-winners of four, and also for imported horses, three, and four-year-olds non-winners of four.

Please note, this event is listed as the tenth on the Overnight programme, and is therefore subject to change on the final programme.

The distance of this contest is 5 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s analysis of the six starters is given below.

1 – LEGIT BOSS is a three-year-old bay filly (February 20) by Casual Trick out of Bilingual, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. The champion two-year-old filly of last year is yet to get off the mark as a three-year-old. Ligit Boss showed up well on last (June 3), when finishing less than a length behind Inspire Force over the same distance as Saturday’s encounter. Ligit Boss is poised to replay her connections with a win.

2 – AWESOME ANTHONY is a three-year-old chestnut colt (March 27) by Soul Warrior out of Antoinette, trained by Patrick Taylor with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Note, Awesome Anthony races with the blinkers on. Enters this race as a non-winners of three races. Awesome Anthony is known for his speed and should benefit from a reduction in the trip. Cannot be overlooked.

3 – IS THAT A FACT is a three-year-old bay colt (USA April 20) by Palace Malice out of Valid Code, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. This foreigner is returning to the competitive front after a break of 154 days. Has raced three times, winning the first time out. Is That A Fact has been extensively prepared for his return, but should need the run to find his footing. Yet, seems to be of good quality, and therefore cannot be denied a reasonable chance of winning.

4 – ROYAL ASH is a three-year-old roan filly (February 24) by Fearless Vision out of Greek Goddess, trained by Anthony Nunes with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Slowly finding herself, and despite being a non-winners of three, in a non-four, Red Ash has a shot of winning, especially if the pace up front is hot, she has the ability to strike inside the final two furlongs.

5 – VOLATILITY is a three-year-old bay filly (March 19) by Hedge Fund out of Fashionista, trained by Anthony Nunes with Matthew Bennett aboard. Has some speed but will not be effective against these.

6 – REJECTED RAJA is three-year-old chestnut colt (February 2) by Soul Warrior out of Palace Gold, trained by Robert Pearson with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Was not able to handle his fellow colts and gelding in the recent, The Kingston. Now, Rejected Raja returns to a grouping much more to his liking. He is a non-winners of three racing in a non-four, meaning a place on the board is best available.
