St Leger Principals Put In Final Gallops

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The leading lights going into the 10-furlong Jamaica St Leger Classic scheduled for Saturday next, July 1, 2023, at Caymanas Park.

The hot ante-post favourite and winner of the 2000 Guineas Mojito, trained by Richard Azan galloped on Sunday, June 25, with the blinkers and tongue tie on, clocking 1:14.3 for six furlongs.

The winner of the 1000 Guineas, the Jason DaCosta-trained Mamma Mia also put in her last gallop on Sunday (June 25), timing 1:29.3 for seven furlongs.

Second in the 1000 Guineas, and winner of The Portmore, galloped seven furlongs on Sunday (June 25) clocking 1:29.1 for seven furlongs.

Although not competing in the 2000 Guineas, Huntsman trained by Ian Parsard is considered to be a St Leger contender.

Huntsman with the tongue tie on, was clocked at 1:41.0, for seven furlongs on Sunday (June 25).
