KINGSTON, Jamaica – Thirteen horses are entered in The Portmore 2023.
The Quick Galloper has sifted through the 13 horses set to compete, and has compiled some special notes, which are published below.
1 – The only unbeaten horse in The Portmore 2023 is Bootylicious trained by Ian Parsard.
2 – Bootylicious with three wins from three starts, and Mamma Mia, with three wins from six starts have won the most races in The Portmore field of 13.
3 – The horses with the most career starts are All For Love and She’s Myhedgefund, both having faced the starter on nine occasions.
4 – There are no maidens in The Portmore.
5 – Two horses, Epic and Princess Sharon have raced and won only once.
6 – Epic, Princess Sharon, Brown Skin Girl, Gahly Gahly Links, and Aria’s Reign did not race as two-year-olds.
7 – The dominant stallion in The Portmore is Soul Warrior, who has sired four of the 13 starters. They are; Princess Sharon (Soul Warrior out of Princess Shine; Mamma Mia (Soul Warrior out of Princess Geeta); Durocell (Soul Warrior out of Savanna’s Smile), and Thalita (Soul Warrior out of Luminous Trieste).
8 – Champion Jason DaCosta has the most entries, six, in The Portmore. The DaCosta entries are Show Girl, Brown Skin Girl, She’s Myhedgefund, Mamma Mia, Gahly Gahly Links, and Thalita.
