KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race of nine on the Saturday card of April 15, 2022, is a three-year-old maiden special weight event going 5 ½ furlongs in which seven horses are entered.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below, done in post-position order.

1 – CAPTAIN PHILIP is a chestnut colt (April 8) by Hedge Fund out of Kandi With A K trained by Gary Griffiths with Oshane Nugent in the saddle. Getting his act together, and therefore will not affect the main players in this one.

2 – JACK DANIEL is a chestnut colt (March 1) by Soul Warrior out of Antioch trained by Keffin Murray with Ameth Robles aboard. This chestnut colt has raced twice and has not shown anything of significance. That trend is expected to continue. Note, Jack Daniel races with the figure 8 on.

3 – CLOWNING AROUND is a chestnut colt (March 26) by Patton Proud out of Royal Beauty trained by Steven Todd with Phillip Parchment aboard. Has not demonstrated much in his two career starts to date. The learning curve continues for Clowning Around.

4 – LION CHARMER is a chestnut filly (March 29) by Lion Tamer out of Charming Beauty trained by Patrick Lynch with Tevin Foster aboard. After two good efforts, Lion Charmer was not within herself on Easter Monday. Following that clinker, Lion Tamer makes a quick return with a change of equipment and the leading rider in the saddle. A much better run can therefore be anticipated. Note, Lion Charmer races with the visor on.

5 – ROARING THUNDER is a grey colt (April 16) by Speith out of Little Thunder trained by Gary Griffiths with Reyan Lewis aboard. The experienced one of this lot, with 11 starters to his credit. Anything can be expected from Roaring Thunder, including a winning run. Has to be placed in the exacta and trifecta wagers. Note, Roaring Thunder races with the tongue tie on.

6 – SENSATIONAL MOVE is a chestnut colt (April 11) by Sensational Slam out of Money Move trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins aboard. This newcomer has caught the eye of railbirds in the mornings with many suggesting that he is of worth. A winning debut is on the cards.

7 – BAD INVESTMENT is a bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of My Angel Briannah trained by Dennis Pryce with Robert Halledeen aboard. Came into sight on his last outing (April 8) when finishing third behind Kai On The Move and Digital Light. Bad Investment is coming to come and will be among those deciding this one.
