As the starter sent them on their way, four-year-old bay filly Rambling Rose shot to the front and took the field into the half-mile (800m) turn ahead of Phoenix Risen (Paul Francis), A Gift From Ben (Anthony Thomas), and Legal Bomb (Javaniel Patterson).
Hugging the inside rails and cutting the turn, Rambling Rose drew clear from rivals entering the lane and went on about her business, scoring by 7 lengths at the wire in a time of 1:00.3. Finishing second was Jupiter Man (Oshane Nugent) and finishing third was A Gift From Ben.
