KINGSTON, Jamaica – Race nine on Saturday, March 4, 2023, is a three-year-old non-winners of two for locally bred horses, and a maiden call for three-year-olds and upwards foreign bred horses. The running distance is the minimum trip on the round course – five furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the eight horses entered for this competitive effort is published below in the order of the draw.

– WHIZZ KIDD is bay colt (April 18) by Northern Giant out of Mayken Joy trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. Let loose of the maiden tag after 10 starts 14 days ago. Needs time to acclimatize to unfamiliar ground.

– MILOS is a bay colt (March 31) by Casual Trick out of The Vides Lady trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. This well-thought-of colt makes his first 2023 appearance. He has been present in the mornings, and holds a win over stablemate Savvy Girl late last year, with Savvy Girl going on to win impressive just a week ago. Milos will have a telling impact in this one.

– PIGGLIE WIGGLIE is a bay filly (April 2) by Conquest Cherimash out of Save More trained by Patrick Fong with Natalie Berger in the saddle. Speedy sort, however, has the tendency of faltering. Five furlongs is ideal for Pigglie Wigglie but the jockey does not inspire any confidence. Note, Pigglie Wigglie races with the blinkers off.

– PRETTY CAROLINE is a bay filly (USA – February 5) by Flintshire out of Caroline Victoria trained by Patrick Lynch with Dane Dawkins holding the reins. Newcomer said to be of some ability but will need time.

– MAJOR DANGER is a bay colt (USA May 25) by Majestic City out of Clean Eleven trained by Anthony Dixon with Paul Francis aboard. Was prominent in his first run on February 4. Will get better with time. Note, Major Danger races with first-time Lasix.

– BRITTBRIAN EXPRESS is a bay filly (USA March 20) by Amira’s Prince out of Ketchmewhereyoucan trained by Philip Feanny with Reyan Lewis aboard. Racing for the first time, this US-bred filly cannot be seriously considered.

– FLYBLUEJET is a dark brown filly (USA April 3) by Air Force Blue out of Perfectly Beautiful trained by Philip Feanny with Anthony Thomas aboard. Had the misfortune on January 15 of passing the post in front and then was disqualified and placed behind Rejected Raja. This filly has speed and is expected to proceed to the lead when the gates open, and thereafter it will be a catch me if you can situation.

– BOX BOX is a chestnut filly (USA March 9) by Shaman Ghost out of Jessica Is Black trained by Owen Sharpe with Jerome Innis in the saddle.
