KINGSTON, Jamaica – Listed as the tenth race on the Overnight program, which is subject to change on the final program, is a three-year-old and upwards Grades Stakes call going 5 ½ furlongs for SVREL Anniversary Trophy.

Eight horses are entered in this event to be contested on Saturday, March 4, 2023, with The Quick Galloper analysis provided below.

– SHE’S MY DESTINY is a five-year-old chestnut mare by Bern Identity out of Woman Is Boss trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. Got a pipe opener 28 days ago over 6 ½ furlongs, finding Mahogany too hot to handle, losing by 2 ½ lengths. She’s My Destiny is the undoubted speed in this contest, and for sure, she will have to be caught. This mare allows weight to her seven rivals, yet this consideration is a minor one.

– DUKE is a seven-year-old grey horse by Casual Trick out of Lady MacBeth trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Attends every party in recent times, and was easily dispatched by She’s My Destiny on February 4. Although better off in the handicaps compared with She’s My Destiny, the shortening of the distance by a furlong is not in favour of Duke.

– LABAN is a six-year-old bay gelding by Sensational Slam out of For Trixie trained by Richard Azan with Anthony Thomas aboard. Laban put it across some talented rivals over the five straight two weeks ago. Laban, as usual, will be lurking behind the leaders, waiting to strike in the final furlong and a half.

– KING ARTHUR is a six-year-old bay gelding by Natural Selection out of Geisha’s Art trained by Jason DaCosta with Omar Walker in the saddle. Showed a glimpse of his former self last weekend going 9 ½ furlongs. The distance of Saturday’s race (5 ½ furlongs) is not to the liking of King Arthur.

– JOHNCROWJEFF is a five-year-old bay gelding by Natural Selection out of Sweetyourock trained by Jason DaCosta with Ramon Nepare in the saddle. Out of place.

– MINIATURE MAN is a five-year-old chestnut gelding by Northern Giant out of Runaway Gal trained by Jason DaCosta with Jordan Barrett aboard. Racing regularly of late, cannot be considered a serious contender.

– I AM FRED is a five-year-old bay gelding (USA) by Golden Lad out of Happy Hailey trained by Jason DaCosta with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Left us with poor form at the backend of the 2022 season. Will need time to get back to his fighting best.

– CURLIN’S AFFAIR is a five-year-old chestnut horse by Perfect Curlin out of Nuclear Affair trained by Anthony Nunes with Oneil Mullings in the saddle. Despite his consistency, Curlin’s Affair is going to find it difficult to deal with these rivals.
