KINGSTON, Jamaica – The ninth race on the Sunday card of February 26, 2023 is Division Two of the three-year-old maiden contest for fillies only going 5 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s analysis is below.

– EXOTIC LIGHT is a bay filly (March 3) by Hedge Fund out of So Smooth trained by Gary Griffiths with Matthew Bennett aboard. Impressive on debut (February 18), with a close third place behind Whizz Kidd and Natural Dancer. Then Exotic Light was running on over five furlongs round, and with the extra ground to cover and the experience gained, she is a live threat.

– CRUCIAL ALEXXYA is a grey filly (March 8) by Admiral Alex out of Crucial Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Jerome Innis aboard. Can be put aside for now.

– GAHLY GAHLY LINKS is a chestnut filly (March 5) by Hedge Fund out of Danzig La Rae trained by Jason DaCosta with Abigail Able aboard. Made her debut 22 days ago, running on coming down the five straight course to finish fourth. Would have learned from that experience and is given an outsider’s chance of success in this one.

– JUBBIE WAP WAP is a grey filly (April 19) by Speith out of Wap trained by Michael Thomas with Andre Martin in the saddle. The journey begins for this filly.

– SUGAR SUGAR is a chestnut filly (March 22) by Berlino Di Tiger out of Misty trained by Michael Marlowe with Ramon Nepare aboard. Better now expected after showing up in the early stages of her debut run on February 4.

– KISSMET is a bay filly (March 30) by Adios Charlie out of Holy Cowgirl trained by Steven Todd with Robert Halledeen aboard. Faded away in her last effort, after some encouraging efforts in her first two outings. The replacement of jockey Richard Henry with Robert Halledeen shows the intent of her connections. This filly is primed for a winning run.

– ANSWER MY PRAYERS is a bay filly (May 24) by Casual Trick out of Great Faith trained by Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins aboard. Will gain experience. Still not ready, needs more time.

– POWEROFHERHIGHNESS is a bay filly (March 15) by Key To Power out of Herroyalhighness trained by Dennis Pryce with Raddesh Roman aboard. Cannot be considered.

– NATURAL DANCER is a bay filly (March 15) by Natural Selection out of Goldstardancer trained by Robert Pearson with Reyan Lewis aboard. Just beaten on debut (February 18), showing gut and determination in the process. With that initial run under her girl, along with progress in the mornings, Natural Dancer is the favourite to get off the mark.

– HOT STEPPER is a chestnut filly (March 13) by Hedge Fund out of Crème De La trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Improving with every run, Hot Stepper will much prefer this shorter route and will be in the final mix.
