KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth race on Saturday, February 25, 2023, is named after the reigning Horse of the Year, Atomica. It is a three-year-old maiden contest going a mile, in which eight horses are entered.

– MANOUSHE is a grey colt (April 18) by Speith out of Regency trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins aboard. Manoushe has been preparing for his debut for a while now. Expected to have a say in the final outcome, but a winning run over a mile the first time out is highly unlikely. Note, Manoushe races with the figure eight on, and first-time Lasix.

– SMOOTH AVIATOR is a bay colt (March 23) by Casual Trick out of Classy Aviator trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Goes longer than 5 ½ furlongs for the first time, with some uncertainty as to whether he Cn handle such a distance. Will not seriously challenge the main aspirants.

– MPRS LINKS is a bay filly (March 29) by Admiral Alex out of Brewedtoperfection trained by Jason DaCosta with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Learning her trade, slowly but surely. Will continue to acquire the experience.

– MODERN MIRACLE is a chestnut colt (January 2) by Hedge Fund out of Sound of Miracle trained by Anthony Nunes with Linton Steadman aboard. Modern Miracle has been thereabouts in his five starts to date. Has already raced over a mile, and with that experience in his hoofs, Modern Miracle will be a deciding factor in this one. Note, Modern Miracle races with the visor on, and the figure eight on.

– RHYTHM BUZZ is a bay colt (April 22) by Buzz Nightmare out of River Rhythm trained by Vincent Atkinson with Andre Powell holding the reins. In his four outings, Rhythm Buzz has raced at a mile twice, and on both occasions, he has finished second. He is the best suited to this trip, has already demonstrated his worth, and is readily poised to get off the mark.

– WAYNE’S PRINCESS is a bay filly (May 19) by Northern Giant out of Patara trained by Jason DaCosta with Omar Walker aboard. Still finding her way. Note, Wayne’s Princess races with the visor off and the blinkers.

– BAD INVESTMENT is a bay colt (January 30) by Casual Trick out of My Angel Briannah trained by Dennis Pryce with Trevor Simpson in the saddle. Not settled in his trade as yet.

– SAVVY GIRL is a bay filly (April 9) by Savoy Stomp out of Runallday trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Coming along with some noticeable efforts in her four runs thus far. Although Savvy Girl will find it difficult to compete against the colts, she has enough experience in her tank to be a creditable outsider.
