KINGSTON, Jamaica - As pace gathers in the new season among the three-year-olds, the fourth race on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, is a maiden special weight call going 6 ½ furlongs/.
Eight three-year-olds are entered, with The Quick Galloper providing the analysis below.
1 – TOKILLAMOCKINGBIRD is a bay colt (March 6) by Lion Tamer out of Newton’s First Law trained by Marlon Anderson with Bebeto Harvey aboard. Has not shown anything of significance in his three career starts. The trend will continue Ash Wednesday.
2 – THE BEES KNEES is a bay filly (January 26) by Savoy Stomp out of Awesome Sauce trained by Richard Azan with Trevor Simpson aboard. Has looked improved in the mornings, despite three low performances thus far. The Bees Knees can hit the board. Note, The Bees Knees races with the blinkers off.
3 – UNCHARTER is a bay colt (Feb 15) by Hedge Fund out of Little Gidding trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen. Out of four outings to date, Uncharter has finished in the top four once. Going well at exercise. Uncharter is expected to be a deciding factor.
4 – ROARING THUNDER is a grey colt (April 16) by Speith out of Little Thunder trained by Gary Griffiths with Christopher Mamdeen aboard. The experienced one in this lot with seven runs under his girth. Roaring Thunder in his last four efforts showed progress, which will assist him in getting closer in this one, especially going against moderate rivals.
5 – BURNING VALOR is a bay colt (February 16) by Silent Valor out of Burning Clearance trained by Carl Anderson with Phillip Parchment. Burning Valor has caught the eyes of morning watchers, who are reporting that Burning Valor is a talented one in the making. A good effort on debut is expected from Burning Valor.
6 – PRINCESS TALISE is a bay filly (April 17) by Savoy Stomp out of Dancing Queen trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Dane Dawkins. Has been a no factor in all of her eight starts, and that won’t change on Wednesday even with the champion jockey in the saddle.
7 – MO AVIATOR is a bay colt (April 26) by Northern Giant out of Black Magic trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Coming along, not ready as yet.
8 – CURLIN’S NOON is a bay colt (March 17) by Perfect Curlin out of Noon It Is trained by Anthony Nunes with Linton Steadman aboard. Has not lived up to early expectations in his two career starts. Said to be progressing at exercise and is given another opportunity of coming good. Note, Curlin’s Noon races with the visor and tongue tie on.
