All horses from the first event were claimed for $250,000 each.
Patrick Taylor claimed Special Counsel for owner Donnett Yee for $550,000 from Tyrone Prince, Roy Matthews claimed City Counsel for owner Glendon Drummond for $550,000 from Gary Griffiths, and Dennis Thwaites claimed Denbigh Life for owner Carlton Watson, also for $550,000 from Christopher Pierre from the third race.
