The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, 8 Winchester Road, Kingston 10, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
Jockey ROGER HEWITT who rode JOHNCROWJEFF in the tenth (10th) race on Saturday, December 3, 2022, was fined Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the intimidation caused to BRINKS approaching the 1600-metre point.
Jockey ONEIL MULLINGS who rode PERFECT BREW in the tenth (10th) race on Saturday, December 3, 2022, was fined Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to CRIMSON approaching the 1600-metre point that resulted in the fall of the rider of CRIMSON and the disqualification of PERFECT BREW.
Jockey DANE DAWKINS who rode:
- BRINKS in the tenth (10th) race on Saturday, December 3, 2022, had his explanation accepted for the intimidation and interference caused to CRIMSON approaching the 1600 metre point, that resulted in the fall of the rider; and,
- DODGE THIS LINK was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for failing to persevere with his mount sufficiently, in breach of Rule 200(2).
Jockey SHAVON TOWNSEND who rode GIVEMETHELIGHT in the sixth (6th) race on Sunday, January 15, 2023, was fined Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to TAPIT GOOD leaving the 600-metre point.
Jockey TEVIN FOSTER who rode NOBLE IMPULSE in the sixth (6th) race on Sunday, January 15, 2023, was cautioned for the intimidation caused to POWER OF FAITH in the vicinity of the 1000 metre point.
Jockey YOUVILLE PINNOCK who rode TALONA in the eighth (8th) race on Sunday, January 15, 2023, was fined Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the intimidation caused to LUKSOL approaching the 600-metre and the 450-metre points.
Jockey REYAN LEWIS who rode RUNNING GLORY in the seventh (7th) race on Saturday, December 3, 2022, was suspended for one race day and fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to BOX BOX in the vicinity of the 1000-metre point, that resulted in the disqualification of RUNNING GLORY. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
Jockey DEVON A. THOMAS, who rode HUNZA in the third (3rd) race on Sunday, January 29, 2023, was suspended for five (5) race days and fined Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to DANCING WITH A CAT approaching the 600-metre point, and HEROINE in the vicinity of the 50-metre point, that resulted in the disqualification of HUNZA. The suspension will be in effect as of Saturday, February 18, 2023.
