KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race on Saturday, November 5, 2022, is a three-year-old (non-four) for locally bred horses and a non-three for foreign bred horses – three-year-olds and upwards.
The distance to be covered by the eight entrants is one mile.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S assessment of the eight runners is provided below.
1 – D HEAD CORNERSTONE is bay colt (March 23) by Bern Identity out of Soul Of The Heart. Note, D Head Cornerstone races with the tongue tie and figure 8 off. D Head Cornerstone finished second behind an out-of-class Brinks (now in Overnight Allowance) on October 22. Win number three from 13 starts is on the horizon for this Gary Subratie.
2 – SUNSET SILHOUTTE is a bay filly (April 6) by Northern Giant out of Ahwhofah. Made a brave bid on October 22, over nine furlongs and 25 yards, finishing second behind the much improved Perfect Brew. The reduction in the distance will suit Sunset Silhoutte, who has an opportunity to shine but will have to put every hoof step right.
3 – RAINSVILLE is a grey gelding (April 12) by Casual Trick out of Fiftyshadesofray. Still trying to find his way in this grouping.
4 – GREAT TRICK is a bay colt (March 20) by Casual Trick out of Great Faith. Trying to find his way in this grade.
5 – TEKAPUNT is a bay gelding (February 25) by Northern Giant out of Just A Flutter. Tekapunt is slowly returning to his usual self with two efforts under his belt since returning from a long injury recovery break. She will be at home at a mile but will have to play second fiddle again behind D Head Cornerstone.
6 – I REALISE is a bay gelding (March 28) by Northern Giant out of Regina Royale. Note, I Realise races with Lasix. I Realise can hold his own against these, and has to be taken seriously. A good exacta wager along with Tekapunt and D Head Cornerstone.
7 – MONSIEUR BLUE is an imported in-utero bay gelding by Tourist out of La Hague. An upset winner at non-two – seven days ago. Will need to learn first before effectively tackling these.
8 – THE CITADEL is a chestnut gelding (May 20) by Key To Power out of Wings of Hope. Note, The Citadel races with the cheekpieces on. The Citadel has been away for a while due to injuries. Although looking good at exercise, THE GALLOPER prefers to wait to see what THE CITADEL has to offer.
