KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Gary Crawford has been around for quite a while, without gaining much success but that situation came to an end moments ago when the long-time conditioner watched with pride as his charge Storm Valley took the fourth race at Caymanas Park with the in form Phillip Parchment in the saddle.
Going off at odds of 4-1, Storm Valley came with a strong run in the last furlong of the $750, 000 -$700,000 claiming event run over six furlongs, to catch and beat the leader from the off, Polly B (6-1) with Tevin Foster on board. The 3-5 favourite, Miss Formality with Omar Walker atop finished third.
Storm Valley ran six furlongs in a time of 1:13.3 to give his trainer his first winner for the year.
