KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth race of ten on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Caymanas Park is designated for three-year-old fillies only going 6 ½ furlongs.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S analysis of the 12 horses nominated to compete is provided below for readers on QUICKGALLOP.COM.
– TRADITIONAL LADY is a bay filly (April 19) by Traditional Lady out of Always In The Mood trained by Patrick Lynch with Matthew Bennett aboard. Went by the post in first place on September 24, but was subsequently disqualified. On Saturday, Traditional Lady gets the perfect trip and is expected to finally get off the mark.
– OOH SO LONG is a bay filly (May 27) by Force De Jour out of Oolong trained by Gary Subratie with Andre Powell aboard. Ooh So Long is coming to come and is good for a place on the board.
– DANCING WITH A CAT is a bay filly (April 23) by Emperor Hall out of Dancing Wizard trained by Carl Anderson with Nicholas Hibbert aboard. This filly has no real chance of winning. Note, that Dancing With A Cat races with the tongue tie off.
– SHE’S MY FRIEND is a bay filly (May 10) by Natural Selection out of My Friend Lucy trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. She’s My Friend has remained consistent, finishing second behind Funometer seven days ago. She is fit as can be, and a sterling effort is in the offing.
– MELMICH is a chestnut filly (February 13) by Sparrow Hawk out of Miss Polly trained by Lorenzo Robinson with Omar Walker aboard. Melmich cannot be considered seriously.
– NEVER ON A SUNDAY is a bay filly (April 20) by Midnight Hawk out of Kenzie’s Charm trained by Maurice Crooks with Shane Richardson aboard. Never On A Sunday raced prominently on September 25 then went way wide shortly before entering the straight. If Never On A Sunday can report without that impediment, she is given an outsider’s chance of winning. Note, that Never On A Sunday races with the cheekpieces on.
– EMPRESS NAKELIA is a chestnut filly (February 28) by Deputy Glitters out of Aguila trained by Robert Ffrench with Rudolph Paige aboard. Does not have a chance of winning.
– XCEPTIONAL BABZ is a chestnut filly (May 5) by Sensational Slam out of Jesse’s Favourite trained by Norman Smith with Phillip Parchment aboard. Still learning her trade.  Note, that Xceptional Babz races with the visor off and first-time Lasix.
– MILLINIUM STAR is a bay filly (February 18) by Storm Craft out of Running Star trained by Johnny Wilmot with Paul Francis aboard. Will not shine on Saturday.
– PREMIER IDENTITY is a chestnut filly (April 5) by Bern Identity out of Twist And Turn trained by Howard Jaghai with Dane Dawkins aboard. The presence of leading rider Dane Dawkins has caught the attention of many onlookers. Premier Identity disappointed on last with a weak effort, now she must show marked improvement to win this one. Note, that Premier Identity races with the tongue tie on.
– BLUE PERSUASION is a bay filly (April 11) by Takeover Target out of Big Towner trained by Michael Marlowe with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Will gain much-needed experience.
– NOA LI is a bay filly (April 10) by Forest Danger out of Celine trained by Anthony Nunes with Dick Cardenas aboard. Finished behind March and Shoot and Cotterwood Kathy on September 25. Still in good nick and has a more than reasonable chance of success. Note, that Noa Li races with the tongue tie off.
