KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth race on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Caymanas Park is designated for three-year-olds (non-winners of two) going the rare distance for the cohort outside of the Classic races of nine furlongs.
THE QUICK GALLOPER analysis is provided below.
– G T BOY is a dark bay gelding (June 21) by Here Comes Ben out of Rejected Slew trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis aboard. G T Boy has to be given some consideration mainly because of the winning surge currently being experienced by his trainer champion Anthony Nunes in the three-year-old category. Has gone up in the weights with the distance a question mark.
– REAL BOSS is a chestnut filly (March 26) by Tonalist out of Hisse trained by Spencer Chung with Shane Ellis aboard. Did well on last (August 21) when finishing third going a mile. With a softer pace expected, Real Boss with the distance king Shane Ellis in the saddle, is given every chance of winning. Note, that Real Boss races with the blinkers off, and visor on.
– POWER OF FAITH is a chestnut gelding (April 13) by Key To Power out of Yield To Faith trained by Donovan Plummer with Samantha Fletcher aboard. Can be deleted from contention. Note, that Power of Faith races with the visor and tongue tie-off.
– LION OF EKATI is a dark brown gelding (USA) (February 14) by Tale of Ekati out of Indian Conduct trained by Jason DaCosta with Nicholas Hibbert aboard. Based on the past efforts of this foreigner he will appreciate every inch of the nine furlongs on offer. Always slowly out and usually at the back of the field, Lion of Ekati does his best running in the latter part of his races. This is the best opportunity to date for Lion of Ekati to get off the mark.
– NEFERTARI is a bay filly (March 22) by Savoy Stomp out of Princess Geeta trained by Anthony Nunes with Anthony Thomas aboard. Nefertari retuned after a long break 13 days ago. Then Nefertari was again up to her old trick of being slowly out of the gates. Now going nine furlongs, she can afford to be slowly out and then bide her time but it will be difficult. `Note, that Nefertari races with the cheek pieces on.
– RAINSVILLE is a grey gelding (April 12) by Casual Trick out of Fiftyshadesofray trained by Richard Azan with Omar Walker aboard. Difficult to see this one winning. Note, Rainsville races with Lasix removed.
– SALUTE THE DEPUTY is a bay gelding (April 20) by Deputy Glitters out of No Pain No Gain trained by Al Brown with Oneil Mullings. Can be discarded from the reckoning.
– SECRET EMPEROR is a bay gelding (February 16) by Emperor Hall out of Secret Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Christopher Mamdeen aboard. Racing in non-winners of two for the first time and will need time to acclimatize.
