KINGSTON, Jamaica – The odds-makers at QUICKGALLOP.COM have made sweeping changes to the morning line odds for the Classic 2000 Guineas, primarily based on performances and in one instance natural cause. The 2000 Guineas for colts and geldings will be contested on Sunday, June 5, over a mile.
The odd-makers still consider the 2000 Guineas to be a wide-open Classic with none of the three-year-old colts and geldings showing enough to be the leader of the pack. Hence, joint favouritism at 2-1 between Emperorofthecats and Blue Vinyl.
In the earlier morning line odds for the 2000 Guineas disseminated on May 14, Supreme Song was the third choice at odds of 4-1. Unfortunately for racing and for his connections, Supreme Song listed as the third favourite at odds of 6-1, sadly passed away at exercise yesterday (May 24).
Taking the place of Supreme Song is stablemate Morimoto, who comes in at odds of 8-1. This assessment of Morimoto comes after achieving his second win in succession (Sunday, May 22) going seven furlongs. Morimoto in the eyes of the odd-makers is developing at the right time.
