SAMANTHA FLETCHER RETURNS
After a riding injury sustained in the fourth event on Ash Wednesday, Samantha Fletcher returns to saddle having secured two rides on the day. Based on the OVERNIGHT, Fletcher will mount up on Silent C for trainer Uton Stewart and Chiney Music for trainer Wilfred Chin.
DANE DAWKINS NOT ON THE CARD
Leading jockey Dane Dawkins is not listed on the nine-race program. Dawkins was unable to fulfil his riding engagements last Saturday (May 14) after falling from a horse during the exercise. Two of his Saturday rides Joyful and Alexa’s Song were winners. Joyful won with Raddesh Roman aboard, while Javaniel Patterson brought home Alexa’s Song.
NO FIRST TIME RUNNERS
The recent trend of race cards having several first-time runners has been bucked on Saturday (May 21). On the listed date there are no first timers.
GOLDEN WATTLE GETS A RUN BEFORE THE 1000 GUINEAS
Champion two-year-old of last year Golden Wattle has been given the opportunity of a tune-up race two weeks before the 1000 Guineas. Racing fans should note that trainer of the filly Anthony Nunes employed the same strategy last year before Golden Wattle won the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes.
