KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2022 edition of the colts and geldings only Prince Consort Stakes takes place this Sunday (April 3) at Caymanas Park. Run over seven furlongs, the Prince Consort Stakes is one of the primary events leading to the Classic races.
The comments below are place in the order of finish.
FIRST – Further and Beyond – After being crowned the two-year-old champion, Further and Beyond went on to dead-heat in the Portmore, and he hit the board in all the Classics. Then the real Further and Beyond came to the fore at the backend of the 2021 season with emphatic victories in the top-rated Jamaica Cup and the Ian Levy Cup. Based on his performances, Further and Beyond was voted as the 2021 Horse of the Year. At present, Further and Beyond is the top-rated horse at the Park. He is nominated to race for the first time as a four-year-old on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
SECOND – Billy Whizz – Was consistent throughout his three-year-old campaign, rubbing hoofs with the major players. Billy Whizz demonstrated time and time again during his three-year-old career that he can mix it with the best in training. He is yet to race as a four-year-old, he is a regular at exercise.
THIRD – Calculus – Continued development after finishing third in the Prince Consort promoted Calculus to untold heights. Calculus won the Jamaica St Leger, the blue riband Jamaica Derby, and then catapulted himself among the best in training with victory in the Gold Cup. He then had close encounters with Further and Beyond in the St Catherine Cup, and the Ian Levy Cup. For his efforts as a three-year-old, Calculus was voted as the first runner-up to the Horse of the Year. Calculus has already raced three times as a four-year-old winning twice with one second-place finish.
FOURTH – Curlin’s Affair – Started his career well but eventually drifted off mainly due to injuries. As a four-year-old, Curlin’s Affair has made significant strides, winning at the Overnight Allowance level with consummate ease. Curlin’s Affair is still eligible for another Overnight run.
FIFTH – Johncrowjeff - Has not done anything of worth since.
SIXTH – T Brady – Pinging along in four-year-old condition races.
SEVENTH – Moneyman – Still plodding around.
EIGHTH – Bern Notice – Has progressed somewhat since the Prince Consort winning most of his conditions.
NINTH – Daddy Jones – Has flattered to deceive many times. He continues to be a disappointment.

  1. Seems we had a better field last year than this year. Notwithstanding lets hope one of these youngsters can blossom into a top campaigner as 'Above and Beyond' has accomplished.
The fillies seem more advanced and a better crop than the colts and geldings at this point in time but lets wait and see what happens as we often have late bloomers .

This 'Where are they now" update is a welcomed addition to your top of the line Quickgallop offerings. Your website continues to generate interest while contributing immensely to the growth of Racing. Keep producing these highly anticipated initiatives.
