Wins with the blinkers off, visor on

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A late flourish by Mule Train (Aaron Chatrie) ended with the gelding’s first victory from 13 career starts. That first win for Mule Train came in a four-year-old and upwards contest travelling seven furlongs. Mule Train won at odds of 9-2.
Trained by Spencer Chung, his first winner in 2022, Mule Train racing with the blinkers off and the visor on, was close to the early leaders Always Vigorous (Javaniel Patterson) and the 3-5 favourite Omron (Raddesh Roman). That was for the first three furlongs, afterward, Chatrie backed off, choosing instead to race in fourth and then fifth place.
In the drive of the last two furlongs, Omron took over and at the furlong pole looked the likely winner, as Mule Train started to motor on the inside rails.
Mule Train nabbed Omron on the line winning by a short head, with Tocatbetheglory third.
