Power Ranking makes his seasonal debut

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Seven three-year-old runners have been entered in a local bred non-winners of two and a maiden competition for foreigners travelling a distance of five furlongs straight.

1 – FLY MESSENGER FLY is a chestnut filly by Northern Giant out of Preach Preacher trained by Jason DaCosta. This filly is the one with the experience here but has no recent form of note and will again be left behind.

2 – SHE’S MY FRIEND is a bay filly by Natural Selection out of My Friend Lucy trained by Jason DaCosta. Races for the first occasion and against winners, she has no choice but to start her learning curve.

3 – POWER RANKING is a bay colt by Casual Trick out of Escandalosa trained by Richard Azan. This colt started his racing career on October 31, 2021, with victory over 4 ½ furlongs. Then on December 18 was second, tasting defeat at the hoofs of the top two-year-old of last year Golden Wattle. Power Ranking’s third race was his worst when he finished seventh again behind Golden Wattle in the one-mile Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes. Power Ranking has been meticulously prepared for his three-year-old debut and must be respected. This bay colt is one of the better of his sex in the three-year-old grouping and is coming to run well on Ash Wednesday.

4 – LION OF EKATI is a US-bred dark bay colt by Tale of Ekati out of Indian Conduct trained by Jason DaCosta. This foreigner has demonstrated nothing in his four races and the best he can hope for is a minor placing.

5 – PHOENIX RISEN is a chestnut colt by Traditional out of Impetus trained by Philip Feanny. Phoenix Risen returns to the races after a 46 day rest period. His maiden victory was accomplished on November 21, 2021, at five furlongs round, and he is sure to hit the board.

6 – AWESOME RICH is a bay colt by Northern Giant out of Awesome Camille trained by Steven Todd. Awesome Rich has been competing regularly and apart from his win in January of this year but without further success and that should be the case once more.

7 – UNRULY GAL is a US-bred bay filly by Drill out of Goodbye Beautiful trained by Jason DaCosta. This foreigner races for the first time and has been extensively prepared for his run by trainer DaCosta. Morning onlookers at exercise report that Unruly Gal is of noteworthy ability and is anticipated to win on his racing introduction.
