4 horses chosen, plus Best Bets on the day
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Of the nine races to be contested on Sunday, February 6, 2022, THE QUICK WHISPERER has designated four horses to watch.
The horses to watch are JJ THE STRIKER, X Y SOUL, POTENTIAL, and ACTION ANN.
JJ THE STRIKER competes in the first race, which is a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners) of two call going 5 ½ furlongs.
JJ THE STRIKER last raced in November of last year displaying no form at all. This chestnut gelding has been around in the mornings at exercise and has been prepared well by his trained. Yet, he might need the run after a break of 92 days, even with the tongue tie taken off.
JJ THE STRIKER will be worth placing in the Trifecta, Superfecta and Hi 5. A small wager to place will be worth it. Expect odds of 10 to 15 to one.
XY SOUL races in a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of 3) call at a mile. It is noticeable that XY SOUL has been put through more intense preparation for this encounter at exercise. The trip is one which he should find no issues with and his trainer Gary Griffiths has been enjoying an uptick in recent times.
With an odds-on favourite on the cards in this race, XY SOUL has a good chance of upsetting the odds. So, wager XY SOUL to win and place, plus place XY SOUL in all the other bets available in this race. Expect starting odds of about 5-1.
POTENTIAL is set to face the starter in the sixth race, which is a three-year-old maiden contest for colts and geldings only coming down the five straight course.
POTENTIAL cannot be recommended based on his past two efforts, but this is a wide open contest with 14 maidens nominated, and, as such, any number can play.
POTENTIAL will report better prepared as his trainer has increased the tempo in the mornings. But, with all that said, it may be best to keep POTENTIAL in the Exacta, Trifecta and Superfecta. A place wager will also be in order. Expect odds of about 15 to 20 to one.
ACTION ANN takes the track in the eighth, which is a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) event going 7 ½ furlongs.
ACTION ANN promised much as a two and three-year-old but injuries have thwarted her progression. This filly last raced 85 days ago, on November 13, when she finished ninth. Before that contest, ACTION ANN was consistent in her previous nine starts.
There is no doubt that this filly has ability and her trainer has invested many hours in her preparation in the mornings.
THE QUICK GALLOPER is banking on the limitation of speed in this race, which could see ACTION ANN setting off in front and proving hard to catch. As such, put some cash on ACTION ANN to win and place, and in all other bets available in the eighth.
THE BEST BETS
In race four try an Exacta box with Ricky Ricardo, Lazer Light, and Salah.
