Race for fillies only over five furlongs straight

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2022 three-year-old season continues tomorrow, Saturday, February 5, at Caymanas Park when the running of the Eight Thirty Sprint at five furlongs straight.
This year’s Eight Thirty has nine starters, with three being first- time starters. THE QUICK GALLOPER looks at these nine starters below in the order they will leave their starting stalls.
1 – THE PULSE: (3 b f by Casual Trick – Heart Beat) – First-time runner who has not wowed at exercise.
2 – ZION’S PRINCESS: (3 b f by Midnight Hawk – Look At Me Now) – This filly has raced twice and has not shown anything of consequence. Note Zion’s  Princess races with the blinkers and cheek pieces on.
3 – MINIDEWAK: (3 b f by Lion Tamer – Aura Mas) – Like Zion’s Princess, Minidewak has raced two times without tickling the egrets. But the barn of her trainer, champion Anthony Nunes has been doing well with the three-year-olds since the start of the season, so with normal improvement coming into play a better run is expected from Minidewak.
4 – SELECT ME: ( 3 dkb f by Natural Selection – Excellence) – A first-timer who has not excited at exercise, but given her pedigree should be watched.
5 – SHE’S FANTASTIC: (3 b f by Bern Identity – Fantabulous) – This filly has caught the attention of clockers in the mornings. She’s Fantastic is said to be a speedy one, who is forward in her preparation. She’s Fantastic based on word from the mornings is expected to give a good showing.
6 – RUPUNZEL: (3 b f by Savoy Stomp – Miss Pasion) – The experience in this encounter as Rupunzel has raced eight times finishing second on six occasions with earnings of $1.2 million. Again, she is ready to run and for sure will be fighting out the finish of this one. Note Rupunzel races with the cheek pieces off.
7 – MISS CALEESI: (3 gr f by Midnight Hawk – Auntie Rhoda) – This filly has raced four times and is yet to show anything of worth. Note Miss Caleesi races with the blinkers on and the cheek pieces on.
8 – ANOTHER WAVE: (3 b f by Savoy Stomp – High Cube) – Finished a second and a third in her three outings to date, thereby giving this filly a live chance of winning and certainly a placing spot.
9 – DUJOUR: (3 dkb f by Force De Jour) – From her three runs to date, Dujour has finished out of the frame on all three occasions. Nothing is expected to change tomorrow.
