As three-year-olds continue on the Classic trail
KINGSTON, Jamaica – THE QUICK GALLOPER continues to diligently watch the progress of the three-year-olds as they prepare for the Classic races later in the year.
On Saturday (January 29), seven maiden three-year-olds face Mr Starter at a mile, the longest trip to be undertaken by this grouping in 2022.
The seven starters in post-position order are Infinito, Justin Biden, Giant Wheeler, Thirtyonekisses, Another Brother, Roraima, and first-timer Scooby.
INFINITO, a bay filly by Silent Valor out of Salino has raced five times, her second this year, and is yet to hit the placing board. As such, she cannot be given a realistic chance of winning.
JUSTIN BIDEN, a chestnut colt by Lion Tamer out of Wagon Wheel has five-lifetime starts, one this year. He has been prominent in some of his races, shorter than a mile, but faded in the straight. One mile is going to be his undoing.
GIANT WHEELER, a chestnut gelding by Northern Giant out of Khadiliah races with the blinkers on for this engagement. Giant Wheeler in his three outings to date has finished fourth two times and he represents the best form in this contest. He is one of two horses in this line-up to race over a mile which at this stage of his development is quite significant. Giant Wheeler is going to be close when the finishing post arrives.
THIRTYONEKISSES, a bay filly by Savoy Stomp out of Shahar has the most starts (6) in this field of runners. But even that mature racing advantage will not assist Thirtyonekisses.
ANOTHER BROTHER, a bay gelding by Savoy Stomp out of Absolute Justice has raced four times with nothing to show for his efforts as yet. Another Brother races on Saturday with the tongue tie taken off.
RORAIMA, a bay colt by Bern Identity out of Classic Princess has only two races under his belt and seems to be a late developer. Finished fourth going seven furlongs on January 8, 2022, and gives the latent impression that he will like more ground. This is a moderate field and Roraima has every chance of winning especially with Dane Nelson aboard.
SCOOBY, a bay colt by Casual Trick out of Royal Dutch has not shown much at exercise to excite and will have to wait.
