Double for trainer Gary Subratie, jockey Dane Dawkins
KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a return to her best form in many moons, foreigner Awesome Treasure demolished her six rivals by 10 lengths to carry home the Fan Appreciation Trophy, which was the New Year’s Day ninth.
It was a one-two finish in this Overnight Allowance call (nine furlongs and 25 yards) for trainer Gary Subratie whose other trainee in the event Supreme Soul finished second. Chinamax (Samantha Fletcher) was third.
For both Subratie and winning jockey Dane Dawkins, the win by Awesome Treasure closed a double for the duo. They had combined earlier on the day to win with Traditional Boy.
From the gates opened Awesome Treasure was asked by Dawkins to go to the front and that she did with ease and thereafter was never challenged.
