Quick double for Generational in consecutive days
After running out an easy winner in a 6-furlong event on Sunday, December 26, the Anthony Nunes-trained Generational returned the very next day down in claiming company and won the three-year-old and upwards event on a $550,000-$450,00 tag going 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m).
Again ridden by Robert Halledeen, Generational was off to a good start sitting on the outside of Special Counsel (Jerome Innis) as the two were locked in an early battle for the lead. The two runners separated themselves from the rest of the field navigating the half-mile turn.
Still under the hand ride turning for home, Generational surged ahead of Special Counsel. Generational off to win by 2 ¾ lengths ahead of stablemate Paraiso (Tevin Foster). Blood Fire (Andre Powell) was third. The final time was recorded at 1:21.2.
Beautiful Bran is off the mark with equipment change
Running with the tongue-tie on, then three-year-old bay filly Beautiful Bran made one move to beat rivals in a native-bred three-year-old Restricted Maiden Condition Race over 4 furlongs (800m).
With Robert Halledeen riding for owner/trainer Dale Murphy, Beautiful Bran shot to the front when the starter let them go and held a comfortable lead once she straightened up. Beautiful Bran then began to draw clear from rivals crossing the dummy rails and went on to win by 1 ¾ length.
Dotlin (Raddesh Roman) finished second and Little Grovy Thing (Oshane Nugent) third. The final time for the event was 48.1.
Three in a row for Casual Affair
Four-year-old bay gelding Casual Affair completed his third consecutive victory when he defeated rivals in a three-year-old and upwards Claiming ($750,000-$600,000) contest on the round course at 5 furlongs.
Trained by Ryan Darby and ridden by Oneil Mullings, Casual Affair raced in third place when the gates opened behind Magical Mood (Tevin Foster) and Cartel (Phillip Parchment) but took over the lead going into the half-mile turn.
Turning for home, Casual Affair was challenged by King’s Magician (Robert Halledeen) but held his gallop well to the wire. Casual Affair won by ¾ length ahead of Magical Mood and King’s Magician.

In the first race, Gary Crawford claimed Diosa De Oro for 0wner Christopher Gordon from Ray Phillips for $550,000; Paul Charlton claimed Special Counsel for owner Devon Francis from Jason DaCosta for $500,000; Rowan Mathie claimed Generational for owner Vincent Mayne from Anthony Nunes for $550,000; and Colin Blair claimed Paraiso for owner Delroy Senior, also from Nunes for $500,000.
In the third race, Leroy Tomlinson claimed Magical Mood for owner Patrick Calder from Nunes for $700,000; Dennis Lee claimed Alimony for owner Faye Lee from DaCosta for $700,000; David Powell claimed Kings's Magician for owner Khamoal Nichol from Nunes for $750,000.
In the seventh race, Lawrence Freemantle claimed Boss Izzy for owner Ajax Bjorn for $250,000 from Fitzgerald Richards; Ryan Williams claimed Commissioner for owner The Baller for $250,000 from Joseph Durrant; Vincent Atkinson claimed winner Mr Ambassador for owner Michael Wint for $200,000 from DaCosta, and Stedman Curtis claimed Okahumpka for owner Diamonds for $250,000 from Phillip Lee.
