KINGSTON, Jamaica – The ding-dong affair between the two top trainers, leader Jason DaCosta and champion Anthony Nunes continued apace in the Caymanas Sunday eighth with Nunes closing a triple with the much improved Curlin’s Affair ridden by Robert Halledeen. For the jockey it was his second winner on the day.

Nunes with the win by Curlin’s Affair added $507,750 to his tally while DaCosta with a second, third, fourth and sixth finish in the event earned $313,150, to be in the overall lead by $521,245.

Halledeen took his time on Curlin’s Affair racing in fourth/fifth place as the leader change with regularity.

He entered the straight behind by about five/six lengths but once Halledeen bored through to the inside rails the chestnut colt responded with aplomb to win by 1 ½ lengths. The event won by Curlin’s Affair was for three and four-year-olds (non-winners of four races) going 6 ½ furlongs.

Ianzha Links (Jerome Innis) finished second, with the third spot occupied by It’s A Boy.
