KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Everton ‘Killer’ Miller turned back the hands of "Father Time" with victory at searing odds of 29-1 in the Caymanas Saturday seventh.
The Caymanas Saturday seventh was for local bred three and four -year-olds (non-winners of four) and imported three-year-olds (non-winners of three races) over the five furlong straight course.
Miller, who is rarely seen in the saddle these days, took the Philip Feanny trained I’ve Got Magic from the number two barrier and gradually moved over closer to the inside rails. While Miller was navigating across the track, Hoist The Mast (Tevin Foster) was going at a merry clip in front with Super Duper (Anthony Thomas) trying to follow.
Then in the final furlong, I’ve Got Magic burst through to first get alongside Hoist The Mast and then powering away to score by 1 ½ lengths.
Hoist The Mast was second and Super Duper third.
