KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was easy pickings for 6-5 favourite Star Lee in the Caymanas Saturday (December 18) first.
Star Lee’s win came in The Pilot Francis Memorial Cup, a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) call going six furlongs.
Ridden by apprentice Marshall Porter for trainer Victor Williams, Star Lee was pushed to the front of the pack of 10 runners when the gates opened, and the bay horse was never in any danger of losing thereafter, getting home by the wide margin of 7 ¼ lengths.
Black Royalty (Odeen Edwards) finished second and Stacyslady (Jordan Barrett) third.
Williams was winning for the ninth time this season and Porter was on his second winner in 2021.
