THE JOCKEYS
The ‘big’ jockeys dominate proceedings with the number of rides they and their agents have been able to garner on the 11-race card.
Leading the way is former champion Christopher Mamdeen, who has secured all of nine rides.
Mamdeen is followed by Robert ‘Hardball’ Halledeen, who will mount up in eight different races.
In form Tevin Foster has seven rides, while champion and leading rider Anthony Thomas has six rides, so too Aaron Chatrie, and non-claiming apprentice Oshane Nugent.
Surprisingly, Dick Cardenas, currently joint second in the jockeys’ championship has only two rides in the 11 races, in the tenth and eleventh races respectively.

TRAINERS
The buzz here surrounds the duel for supremacy involving champion Anthony Nunes and Jason DaCosta. Yet the trainer with horses in most of the races is Patrick ‘Wacky’ Lynch, who has entries in six races.
Nunes follows with horses in five races, with DaCosta, Rowan Mathie, Donovan Plummer, and Gary Subratie each saddling horses in four races.

HORSES
There are two horses who will be racing for the first time and both do so in the seventh race.
Atomica is a two-year-old chestnut filly by Nuclear Wayne out of Honkeytonkville and is trained by Gary Subratie. Honkeytonkville has already produced Southern Cruise, Action Cruise, and Colt of Arms.
Select Me is a dark bay filly by Natural Selection out of Excellence trained by Patrick Lynch. Excellence has produced Uncle Wal.
Interestingly, both Lynch and Subratie are starting two-year-olds for the first time.
