KINGSTON, Jamaica – Following the late withdrawal of morning line favourite Lightning McQueen (injured at the gates), Extruder used the opportunity in the Caymanas Monday seventh to notch fifth career victory.
That win by Extruder (Shane Ellis) for trainer Dennis Pryce, came in a $1 million - $800,000 claiming call for three-year-old and upwards horses at 5 ½ furlongs.
The speedy Mr Universe (Matthew Bennett) set off in front as Ellis was easy on Extruder on the inside rails in fourth place.
In the last two furlongs, Extruder took control and although there was a brief challenge by Peking Cruz (Oshane Nugent), Extruder had too much to give, winning by all of eight lengths.
Second was Peking Cruz and third Prince Charles (Romario Spencer).
