The ‘Boss’ arrives | Anthony Thomas at his best | Caymanas Sat 8th

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Unruly Boss, a three-year-old chestnut gelding by Bern Identity – Force Factor has now accumulated a racing record of three wins from five starts after a compelling victory in the Caymanas Saturday eighth, a 3 and 4 year-old (non-winners of four) call going a mile.

Trained by Jason DaCosta with co-champion Anthony Thomas in the saddle, Unruly Boss racing at his longest trip yet, broke well and settled on the outside of leader True Al Sky (Robert Halledeen). Santorini (Linton Steadman), the 4-5 favourite made a terrible start to dissipate his chances of winning.

True Al Sky continued on the front end rounding the turn and it was then that Thomas asked Unruly Boss to takeover with 3 ½ furlongs left in the contest, as Santorini was making up ground on the rails with Den Street (Phillip Parchment) and Iannai Links (Dick Cardenas) in striking distance.

Unruly Boss had a clear advantage when the horse hit the straight for the last two furlongs as Steadman kept on the rails with Santorini, who was getting into top gear.

Unruly Boss started to stutter a bit in the last half a furlong as Santorini now in full stride started to gain.

This was when Thomas dug deep to get Unruly Boss to hold off the persistence of Santorini. It was a well rated ride by Thomas to get Unruly Boss home.

Santorini was second and Den Street third.
