KINGSTON, Jamaica – The recent winning resurgence of trainer Richard Azan continued in the Caymanas Saturday sixth with Artesia (Youville Pinnock) at odds of 8-1.
Racing in a three-year-old (non-winners of two) call over six furlongs, Pinnock kept his mount on the rails behind the leaders Jassendblessings, then Will The Conquerer (Nicholas Hibbert) with Alimony (Tevin Foster) close by.
Artesia had enough and with about three furlongs left in the contest pushed through to enter the straight on top.
Galloping resolutely, Artesia withstood all and sundry to win by three parts of a length in a time of 1:14.0.
Buff Bay (Chris Mamdeen) finished second and T Rady (Robert Halledeen) third.`
