KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Jason DaCosta landed a double after four races when his charge the foreigner I Am Fred romped the Caymanas Monday fourth.
This was the third victory for I Am Fred (Phillip Parchment) from seven starts and that win came in an imported three-year-old (non-winners of three) and a non-winners of four for three and four-year-olds contest run over 7 ½ furlongs.
The 3-5 favourite Daddy Jones (Oshane Nugent) set the early fractions harassed by Den Street (Anthony Thomas) with I Am Fred poised to strike on the outside.
And, strike I Am Fred did three and a half furlongs out with Parchment looking around for any danger.
In the last two furlongs of the homestretch, I Am Fred accelerated as he is known to do, going on to score by 4 easy lengths.
Bern Notice (Tevin Foster) ran on for second with Den Street third.
