KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four-year-old chestnut filly Chanae racing for the 23rd time earned her first victory in the Caymanas Tuesday third.

Chanae gained that success in a four-year-old and upwards maiden condition event at 6 ½ furlongs.

The race for the leadership position was undertaken by Chanae (Linton Steadman) and 4-5 favourite Cup Cake (Tevin Foster), the former holding a slight advantage.

Rounding the turn, Cup Cake (Tevin Foster) tried to move on but was hampered by what turned out to be a loose bandage.

In the stretch drive, Chanae galloped resolutely to beat Mister A (Javaniel Patterson) with Cup Cake, who by then was racing way wide, finishing third.

Chanae is trained by Marlon Anderson, who was saddled his fifth winner this season.
