KINGSTON, Jamaica – By keeping straight while his main rivals were moving from the outside to the inside and vice versa, Stevie The Great landed the Caymanas Saturday nightcap to close a double for his trainer Colin Ferguson.
Racing from the feared one draw coming down the five-straight course in a four-year-old and upwards |non-winners of three race|, Matthew Bennett on Stevie The Great kept things simple by keeping in a straight line.
Steve The Great grabbed the lead with a furlong to go but had to withstand the late surge of Adore Brilliance (Anthony Thomas) getting home by a neck with Basilicus (Oshane Nugent) third.
This was the third win from four starts for Stevie The Great.
