KINGSTON, Jamaica – The victory by Duke in the Vassell Najair Memorial Trophy |Overnight Allowance 5 ½ furlongs| came as no surprise but what drew attention to all watching was the spill of three horses Primal Fear (Oshane Nugent), Uncle Vernon (Samantha Fletcher) and Nevada (Richard Henry), which left all three riders on the track.
Quickgallop.com is monitoring the situation and will report to readers as soon as information is made available.
Duke with Robert Halledeen in the saddle for trainer Gary Subratie was held off the pace, and then went through entering the lane to win by 7 ¾ lengths.
Loose Ball (Tevin Foster) after a bad start ran on for second with Lalala Bamba (Kiaman McGregor) third.
This was the second winner on the day for both Halledeen and Subratie.
