KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was expected especially with the handicaps in his favour but the performance by Billy Whizz in winning the Caymanas Saturday eighth |the Royal Dad Trophy – 9 furlongs and 25 yards | was one to take notice of.
The Royal Dad Trophy an event for three and four -year-olds |non-winners of four races |, also saw jockey Dick Cardenas completing a triple on the day.
Billy Whizz conditioned by Jason DaCosta was rushed to the lead when the starting gates opened. The three-year-old chestnut gelding by Northern Giant – Khadilah kept the advantage along the backstretch and turn for home clear of the rest.
Billy Whizz was not for the catching today and was even going further away from rivals in the last furlong.
Santorini (Linton Steadman) finished second with Sencity occupying the third slot.
The winning time was 1:54.2.
